A Typical Day at the Novitiate House

After a time of novitiate and formation (seven years), during which they endeavor to enter fully into the spirit of the family of Saint John, the Brothers live in small communities: priories. The apostolic activity of these priories seeks to be the "irradiation" of the contemplative and religious life of the Brothers. Therefore, their first role is to be an "oasis" of spiritual hospitality and of search for and communication of the truth.

The Brothers of the Congregation of Saint John, in consecrating themselves to the Virgin Mary, in receiving her from Jesus crucified as did their father Saint John, will increasingly understand that their proper grace is to live by this spirit, that it is a personal call from Jesus for each one of them and for all of them, in order to give witness, in today's Church and to the entire world, to the absolute primacy of the love of Jesus' heart, His filial love for the Father whom He glorifies, His love for men whom He saves. Our father Saint John, through Mary, fully lived by this and he wants us to live by this through him and in him.
